From brochures to catalogues, I design branding and marketing materials for Fortune 500 clients, including
Campbell's Soup Company. In Manayunk, Philly's trendy
restaurant neighborhood, you can see my logo work for Manayunk
Brewing Company.
I learned first-hand about printing by working in a digital media department in the packaging industry. I performed electronic file pre-flight, line screen halftones,
trapping, separating film, stripping and proofing for big
names like McDonalds and Perdue as a flexographic prepress artist.
- about> logos
Logos are extremely powerful to make a consistent message for your target market or audience. I create logos for small businesses, schools, university departments and individual consultants.
When creating a logo I try to convey the essence of the organization's goals and send a message through design as quickly as possible. A great logo looks like it only took a minute to create. It usually takes many designs to find just the right combination of fonts, colors and graphics to hit the mark.

The
Vlasic Stork and Grampa Stroehmann are two famous cartoon characters which
I have illustrated for in-store marketing materials. Did you know they
have to be redrawn each time a new pose is required?
In addition to digital
media I use watercolors, pen & ink and colored pencils to create illustrations for educational publishing, packaging and
the web. I am the illustrator for several childrens books and was recognized
for my work in the national business publication "Who's Who".

about> web design
I design and maintain standards-compliant, cross-browser web
sites for schools and individuals. For examples, please visit my web design gallery. My extensive web experience at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine has contributed to millions of web hits. In one year, when the famous racehorse named Barbaro was a patient for 8 months at the New Bolton Center, the web site received millions of hits every month. The day he sadly lost his battle, the hits were over one million.
As a project leader for a 1500 page web site reconstruction at Penn Vet, I coordinated the launch of the site and the installation of a Dot Net Nuke content management system (CMS). I wrote training materials for users of the CMS as well as training materials for a database for faculty CVs and web pilot projects. I launched another large academic site using a CME for Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions in July 2010.
- social networking & multi-media
- Twitter is hot but why use it? My vision crystalized after finding experts with success stories about internet marketing. I initiated social networking sites for Penn Vet on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. The stats of the Penn Vet web site show that our visitor count increased when using a comprehensive plan. Since 2005 I have set up public blogs for community groups and an internal blog for the dean of Penn Vet. Creating movies and animations are my most recent achievements. For an example of a multimedia and interactive web site which I designed please visit Penn Vet 125th Anniversary site. Two examples are viewable by visiting my web page> more.
Technology training is constant! In June 2009 I lead two sessions at the Penn High Ed Web Camp, discussing social media and web multi-media. I was a panelist for a CMS discussion in addition to attending workshops at the Penn Med 2008 User Interface Conference. I attended PodCamp Philadelphia in 2007 held at Drexel University. I participated on Penn's ISC Web Browser
Testing Team and Penn’s RSS Team to explore RSS/podcasting. For the e-Learning industry, I used
Flash, Articulate and a learning management system (LMS) to create online
learning programs for continuing medical education credits (CME). I also coordinated
workshops and was a member of PADLA, Pennsylvania
Distance Learning Association.

My paintings have been displayed in the Philadelphia area: The Main Line Art Center, Montgomery County Guild of Professional Artists and I am a member of The Plastic Club. I held a solo show in February 2009 in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia and will be participating in First Friday there in November. Some paintings are on display in my painting gallery> more.
